Boys and girls in times of pandemic and their recognition as subjects of rights.
Currently the country and the
world are suffering a health crisis due to a pandemic, which has caused a
series of measures that are aimed at preventing the spread of the coronavirus.
Such measures have been mandatory quarantine for some communes, the closure of
places with a high influx of public.
These measures have also affected
the educational work since the classes have had to be carried out online. This
has implied changing the modality of teaching due to this new context, which
creates and causes different emotions within families since they have had to
adapt to this new way of living together.
It should be noted that children
have had to carry out a quarantine at home, which has as a consequence a
greater role for fathers, mothers and / or caregivers in the educational action
of their children, so it is even more important ensure the recognition of girls
and boys as subjects of rights, understanding this as "recognizing them as
subjects with opinion, with the capacity to make decisions, purposeful and deserving
of consideration, respect and autonomy" (Chile Crece Contigo Team, n / a),
which leads to the implementation of a series of measures and strategies that
strengthen this recognition among families and communities.
The main thing in this approach
is to carry out activities that favor the participation of girls and boys, in
which they can express themselves and be considered. For this, an interrelation
between the families, the educational center and the infants is important so
that the approach of the subject of law is not affected by the different
environments in which the infant develops and thus their opinion is considered
both at home and in the educational center.
